The method
The ideal coffee solution for those on the go, this simple and easy to follow method offers precision and personality in every cup. Measure, pour and then press your way to the perfect cup of coffee.
- Measure and grind 17g of coffee to the same texture as table salt.
- Place the filter in the basket and then rinse the brewer with hot water to pre-heat the brewer and get rid of any residue. Discard the rinse water.
- Place the Aeropress on top of the mug and then place the coffee inside the chamber.
- Pour hot water into the chamber, turning it as you pour to ensure all of the grounds are covered and none are floating on the surface. Pour to the number 4 on the side of the chamber. Use your Aeropress spoon to agitate the slurry.
- Place the plunger into the top of the chamber and then pull up slightly to create a pressure seal. Start your timer.
- At 1 minute and 15 seconds, remove the plunger and stir again. Replace the plunger and slowly press the plunger down. You should hear a hissing sound. This method should yield a single 236ml cup of coffee.
